Yellowtail Finca
Taryn came to us at the beginning of an exciting new journey - establishing a gorgeous boutique hotel on the beach in Plett, South Africa. "Yellowtail Finca" sits right around the corner from Robberg 5 beach and boasts 7 stunning, fully custom rooms each with their own unique personality. Together, we dreamt up the visual branding for the Finca, rooted in a playful and genuine personality that welcomes guests from around the world to put their feet up. As this little Finca is just launching, we kept the website short, simple and sweet, focusing on featuring the best of each of the rooms and sharing the incredible area with future guests.

The logo was inspired in part by a retro, beach cocktail bar paired with a hand-crafted fish icon which draws its entire vibe from an embroidered cushion Taryn holds dear. Translating this embroidered design into a digitised icon, we gave the logo its own personality and distinctly human feel. Perfectly imperfect as they say. The typography is hand-drawn, yet carries a touch more structure for legibility, balance and professionalism.
